New VW T-Roc on test drive almost without camouflage: Everything that is known so far

The VW T-Roc is getting a new model generation. Now the car has been spotted again on a test drive and almost without camouflage. All information here!

A new Volkswagen T-Roc is in the starting blocks and now there are first pictures of the test vehicle. We have the latest pictures and all the information

  • New Volkswagen T-Roc spotted
  • Completely new styling for the small SUV
  • Infotainment technology could be shared with the Golf
  • Same engine range expected, perhaps new hybrid options
  • Officially announced for 2025

After the new Passat and the Tiguan, a new Volkswagen T-Roc is now also being planned. Carwow's spy photographers spotted it on the road, and you can just barely see the most important styling changes. Except for the cleverly camouflaged front and rear sections, the T-Roc is almost the definitive production model here.

Configuring the VW T-Roc

Not much is known about the technical specifications of the new Tiguan yet, but it is likely that it will have the same engine range as the Volkswagen Golf. A full reveal can be expected in the next 12 months. Hybrid versions could also be added

New VW T-Roc: Exterior design

This Volkswagen T-Roc prototype wears a pretty thin camouflage, and you can tell it's more than just a facelift. The body panels are all new, and it seems to have a sleeker look than before.

The grille has been cleverly concealed to look like the current car's, but the new headlights can't be hidden. They're pulled further back than before, and it's safe to assume that the production vehicle will be equipped with super-bright LEDs.

It retains the same sloping roofline as the current T-Roc, and the new exterior mirrors appear to have been carried over from the new Tiguan. The changes to the rear seem to be just as undramatic for now, although it looks like a new light strip is hidden under a foil on the tailgate.

New VW T-Roc: Interior

If you look closely at the side of the new Volkswagen T-Roc, you can just see the infotainment screen protruding from the dashboard. It looks very similar to that of the recently updated Volkswagen Golf, and it wouldn't be a surprise if it were the same system.

That's because the current T-Roc is essentially an upgraded Golf, and the new T-Roc is built on the same principle. That means the dashboard could also look like the Golf, making it look much more modern than the ageing interior of the current model.

Neuer VW T-Roc: Motoren

If the T-Roc R should come, we should get the engines from the Golf R.

When can you buy the new VW T-Roc?

The new Volkswagen T-Roc is currently still in development, so we will have to wait a little longer until the T-Roc is presented. It will probably also have a higher price than the current model. It is still unclear when exactly the presentation and market launch will take place. So far, Volkswagen has only announced 2025 as the date for the new T-Roc generation. As soon as we know more, we will keep you posted. We expect more news in the summer of 2025
