New VW ID.3: Prices and sales launch
VW has unveiled the updated ID.3. Now the manufacturer has also announced the base price for the facelift. The ID.3 Pro model with a 58 kWh battery and an output of 150 kW starts at 39,995 euros. Advance sales begin at the end of March.

New VW ID.3: Exterior design
Visually, the ID.3 actually looks fresher and more modern after its facelift. This is exactly what VW wanted to achieve. Nevertheless, the modern lines are not so new that it would no longer fit into the overall picture of the ID. family.
The front end has been redesigned and is now more dynamic. The "face" also looks friendly, but also self-confident and adult. The bonnet has been redesigned, with emphasis on painting more elements in the body colour. That's why the bonnet looks longer, the black strip under the windscreen has disappeared. An optical stretch has also been created on the sides with recesses.

The air intakes of the ID.3 have been enlarged and optimised, which helps to give the vehicle a sportier and more powerful appearance. But it shouldn't just look like it, because by improving the airflow around the front wheels, the ID.3 is also more aerodynamic – and that helps the range.
Many details also stand for aerodynamics, such as the electric radiator blind. This is only opened when cooling air is needed, otherwise it remains closed and the wind can simply blow over the bonnet.

Headlights and taillights have been redesigned and shine in two-part and red tail-turn brake reversing lights. The part of the taillights that is in the tailgate will now also light up.
The dimensions of the ID.3 are 4.26 metres long, 1.81 metres wide and 1.56 metres high. As with the predecessor model, this makes a long wheelbase possible with short overhangs.

It is very pleasing that a bicycle carrier coupling can be installed as an option. The drawbar load of 75 kilograms should be enough to transport bicycles for a trip into nature.

New VW ID.3 facelift: Interior
Two words are important for the interior: innovation and sustainability. What should please many is that the interior of the new ID.3 is completely animal-free, i.e. equipped with vegan materials. Sustainable materials for interiors are being further developed by more and more manufacturers. VW, for example, relies on Artvelours Eco, which consists of 71 percent recyclate – a secondary raw material that is produced during the recycling of plastic waste.

Especially in the interior, the manufacturer has taken the suggestions for improvement from its customers to heart. In the cockpit, the surfaces are now foamed softer, which brings a much better haptic experience.
The hand rests in the doors are now larger, the CNC seams are contrasting in colour and more precise. This contributes to a higher quality and makes the interior even more visually unique, thanks to the mixture of tradition and futuristic elements.

VW has kept the operating concept modern, intuitive and lean. The display stands freely in the room and is controlled via touch surfaces located on the multifunction steering wheel. Navigation is operated via the touch display in the centre console. Here, too, customer wishes have been incorporated.
The menu structure has been improved and, for example, the loading menu has been set to the first level. Also new is the augmented reality head-up display – a feature that is not found in every vehicle in this class.

New VW ID.3 facelift: engines and range
The technology will not be changed in the facelift. Everything remains the same. Furthermore, a 204 hp electric motor is used. The turning circle is 10.3 meters.
It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and the top speed is also constant at 160 km/h. A sporty ID.3 GTX model will be unveiled later in 2023.
There will be two battery sizes for the new ID.3 – 58 and 77 kWh. With the latter, a range of 546 kilometers should be possible, the smaller battery is enough for 426 kilometers.
