Now you can drive an electric car more cheaply than ever before. In the best case, the Citroen e-C3 will cost you less than €8,000 – be quick and save!
A new electric car for less than 8,000 euros? Sounds like a pipe dream at first – but it's not. With the new e-car subsidy and a clever combination of manufacturer bonus and state subsidy, the Citroen e-C3 can actually be realized for 7,990 euros. However, it doesn't work entirely without a catch. We'll tell you who benefits from this cheap offer and who doesn't.
How is the ultra-low price calculated?

The key to this offer is the combination of government subsidies and additional manufacturer bonuses:
1. State e-car subsidy 2026 (purchase premium)
The new e-car subsidy from the German government has been available since January 2026:
- It grants up to €6,000 depending on income and marital status for pure electric cars – including the e-C3.
- Among other things, it is crucial that the vehicle remains in one's own possession for at least 36 months after the first registration.
- The bonus is applied for after the purchase and paid out later.
All information about e-car subsidies
If we assume that you get the full subsidy of €6,000, that's not enough to reduce the price of the Citroen e-C3 to less than €8,000. Currently, we would be at €13,990.
2. Additional discount from Citroen

This is exactly where the manufacturer promotions come into play:
- Citroen offers its own bonus of €3,000 on eligible electric cars – even if you are not eligible for the state subsidy.
- If you are entitled to a higher premium – e.g. €6,000 – you will not only receive €3,000 but €6,000 from Citroen.
- This manufacturer's premium applies to all persons who order an eligible Citroen and can be credited in addition to the state subsidy.
- If you use both the government subsidy and the Citroen bonus, the total savings (state subsidy + bonus) can be a maximum of €12,000, bringing the list price of the e-C3 down to around €7,990.
Important: Citroen's promotion is currently only valid until 31.3.2026. During this period, you can still purchase the e-C3 at this bargain price.

The Citroen e-C3: Affordable electric car with everyday qualities
The Citroen e-C3 is a compact, everyday electric small car with an urban range and functional equipment. In the basic version, it can be configured at a particularly low cost – combined with the current discount campaigns, it is one of the cheapest new electric cars on the German market.

Of course, such a low price also means that equipment and range are moderate compared to larger models - but for many buyers, that's exactly theright compromise: a new, full-fledged electric car at a price that is otherwise only common for used cars.
